I understand this is probably an austrian or hungarian issue. But the lack of perforation and the look and feel, makes me think it is a fake. Can you folks help me.
It's an Hungarian revenue stamps . Iif memory serve me well very low value . My catalogue is at home I will check tomorrow. They are thin and brittle Parchemin paper it's why the feeling look different
The crown of St Stephen and the (small) coat of arms indicate it is Hungarian. The Austrian Empire coat of arms is double headed eagle. Looks like a revenue. Perhaps cut square (close) from postal/fiscal stationary?
It's not only looking like a revenue . It's a revenue . I just finish today 20 albums pages for them and spent over $200 in book yesterday to check the Austrian revenue. I really like them , low price and full of history with all those countries who change name with time
As area66 suggests, this appears to be trimmed 7 Kr revenue of Hungary 1868 or later. Each denomination has a different design as I recall and hence my quick reference displays only a few of the designs. Can't find my detailed reference or my revenues collection...must be losing my mind.
I was hoping someone will say it is a cut-square from an envelope of that sort... i can't believe why someone will cut the perfs and make something beautiful into a worthless piece. hmmm... another filler...
