Hello experts,

Found the attached sheet of revenue stamps while going through my grandfather's collection of stamps/covers/old documents and could sure use your help in identifying what it really is.
It's a sheet of 24 (the pictures may not be that great).

Thanks,

Dave

To expand a bit on the link above, your "tax paid" stamp went over the top of a liquor bottle and was intended to be broken when the bottle was opened. The black printing on yours is misaligned, perhaps explaining why it was never used.

Interesting, thanks!
Are they collectible?

Some folks collect them, yes, though I`ve never seen them so misprinted.

This is one of the denominations from the Series of 1934, required on all bottles of distilled spirits beginning February 10, 1934. Note there are no sheet numbers (in black), which came into use in November, 1934. There are lots of remainders of four of the bottle sizes: half pint, pint, fifth gallon, and quart. The remaining size is fro miniatures, denominated "less than ½ pint." The black cancellation is quite off-center and I agree that this why it probably never got used. The plate numbers at the top are quite collectible.
