I came across a stamp in my album that I can't quite place. I had always thought it was an obscure Indian State, but now I'm not so sure.

It's very plain, but looks like it says "BAMBA" (not sure about the first letter) "postage" and another two lines which may indicate the denomination.

Does anyone recognize this one? Is it genuine?

It's Bamra, which was an Indian Feudatory State. The actual stamps date from 1888, but thus looks like a fake or reprint - perhaps Tony will chime in.

Yes: a poor quality modern forgery.
