Hmmm. I know Shatner is Canadian by birth, but the connection of the whole Star Trek thing to Canada is tenuous. Unless they can confirm that Canada (if it still existed that far into the future) was a member of the Federation of Planets, then I'll be keeping my 'credits' in my wallet.

These screen captures indicate that the Captain Kirk stamp will be issued in Montreal and the Enterprise stamp issued in Vulcan, Alberta.

The 2016.00.00 seems to indicate the date of issue is not set yet.

Despite the size of William Shatner's image being as big as his ego , I think they are definitely more attractive than the designs put out by our USPS.

Not only is Captain Kirk Canadian, so is James Doohan, born March 3, 1920 in Vancouver. He died in 2005. I think he would be worthy of a stamp too. I somehow suspect we will see additional stamps, sheets, booklets, press sheets etc. This voyage has just begun.

Gilles, I played the video full screen and did a screen capture to get the images.

Canada invented basketball. And hockey. Canada gave the world a stack of movie and TV stars including Shatner. Canada gave the world Superman. And Celine Deon. And Justin Bieber. Well, we're not perfect. Just the best.
