Since the Netherlands Antilles were dissolved in 2010, the Caribbean Netherlands have issued stamps. At first only inscribed 'Caribisch Nederland' and from 2014 with the additional inscription of the names of the individual islands of Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius.
Can anybody tell me whether the stamps thus inscribed are 1) meant for specific use on the individual islands (even though maybe valid on all three islands) or 2) generally available on all islands.
The Dutch NVPH catalog lists the islands as a single entity and the Michel catalog as three separate entities. Does anybody know how other catalogs list these issues? Scott? Stanley Gibbons? Yvert & Tellier?
What makes you think you will get a relevant answer???
The Dutch Antilles have a tradition of issuing stamps for the sole purpose of getting rich quick!
Some stamps issued by FXDC were printed on Bonaire by the printing house owned by the company that won the "public tender" for providing a "postal service" on these islands ....
Thanks for all this information Galeoptix. Yes I suspect it is a money making scheme.
Since all the stamps are inscribed "Caribisch Nederland", that is the postal authority. The name of the other islands should be considered no different than, for example those United States sheets with the 50 different states on each stamp.
