Your other post is also about the value of an FDC. I suggested ebay or Delcampe. Both have a large amount of covers and FDC's. Another option would be the American First Day Cover Society ( http://afdcs.org ). Peter |

Close, but no cigar. 21 was issued on October 29, 1906.
CV of this stamp on cover was 35 dollars some years ago. |

I`ll have to double check tonight. I`m looking at a Specialized Catalog from way back in 1988. I think `on cover` there refers to any cover other than FDC. |

I just checked. It`s for a regular cover with the stamp tied to it.
Does the cover have the Chinese received cancel? That might add value. |

Yes it has a Chinese yellow cancel on front. Please Chinese writing across the right side. |

A lot will depend on the condition of the stamp and cover. Good luck with it. |

This is a case where images of both the front and the back of the cover would be extremely helpful... |

Agree that image(s) would be helpful. But generally Canal Zone to China would be a very good cover. Throw out the catalog value....Scott values typical use, and this is most definitely not. |

The cover is addressed to Gorgona C.Z. and is backstamped with a receiving mark from there. It appears to be addressed to someone Chinese who added docketing, but it does not appear to have traveled to China. It's also a bit shorted at the left. Still an interesting cover.

Ok, this docket can be applied by who? A post master? A service? And how could this cover be canceled in cristobal at 10am then processed received by 10:30 am same day in Gorgona? Just travel time today is almost 2 hours. |

I doubt that it was 10AM in Cristobal, the cancel is badly smudged and it might easily have been earlier. The docketing would have been added by the recipient or their representative, it appears to be commercial mail rather then personal. It has a company handstamp as the return address. |

Hey thanks! So I enlarged the cancel and it looks like a 9 impression. So please explain the docketing. please. Are you saying the company that got it put on the yellow marking and wrote the chinese letters? |
