graphis - The Decaris FDC with the the Béquet stamp is emblematic of the French school of créateurs de timbres-poste. I have never seen anything so tip-top in every respect, so harmonious in force of expression, colour scheme, artistic facture, everything so truly monumental in praise of the stamp art. A real gem among FDCs.

You can study the concentration on his work of art as manifest in the eye of the engraver, the way he closes his lips, his firm grip on the graver, the dramatic folds on the sleeve of his shirt, his lively hair, the solitude of his atelier above the roofs of Paris yet looking out into the broad daylight.

And the stamp: what a fine match! Two of the French artists from among the many of their fold deserving high praise for their work!

Thanks!

Florian...your comments had me give that Decaris cachet a closer look...and I noticed the magnification of his right arm.
Such subtle details...but they are there.
thank you,
