Maxicards are ever so much more appealing when the artwork is more than a clone of the stamp!

And M Decaris has quite a style, n'est-ce pas?

Cheers,

IkeyPikey...yes I agree...most of today's cards are clones of the stamp....Decaris one of my favourites.

I have to admit that I'm not really into
Maxi-cards or FDC's but some of them are quite
appealing.

The 1951 Stamp Day in just green and brown
is so fifties in their economical use of colour
and reminds me of those times.

Lithograving...I liked the stamp featured on that Decaris 1951 maxi card a lot...and was thrilled to find the maxi card companion shortly thereafter...i can only imagine the mixture of aromas in that cramped space...Gitane cigarettes, fresh baguette , brie cheese, maybe a small glass of wine...glue, musty mailbags, fumes of the locomotive and of course the sweat of the workers!
