To me it looks like what we call a "doctor blade", poor wiping of one of the rollers on the press that printed these. Wert, can you chime back in on this? I know you used to print and I like to hear your opinion.
Hi Peter..When I wiped the rollers, you have to remember one thing...It would be very rare to wipe a perfectly straight horiz. line... I think BlackJag may be correct...And the stamp is being far from over inked..a mystery, but a nice stamp never the less.
I am going to post another mystery about a block of 4 stamps and the top corner stamp is heavily over inked and the other 3 are normal..cant explain that one.
