Can someone show me an example of the difference between Pin rouletted and Serrate rouletted?

Thanks,
Still Lucky

"Pin" rouletted" .... maybe "Hyper-hole" rouletted? See this discussion: https://stamporama.com/discboard/di...n=20&id=6863

I'm not familiar with the terms, but this is what I'd call 'pin-perforated':

Note that the pins make holes in the paper, without punching out paper.

This might be an example of your 'serrate' rouletting:

You can see that 'lines' have been cut between the stamps, again without any paper actually being punched out.

Serrate (or serrated) roulette is also called zigzag roulette.

So for example in the German pre-war inflation stamps, Scott #319 is called "serrate" by Scott and SG 349 is called "zigzag" by SG but it's the same stamp.

Hi Still Lucky. Happy to help.

Tony's nice Duttia block is "line roulette" (also called "percé en ligne") rather than serrate roulette.

Thanks Nigelc. The reason I was wondering about the difference was I got a 1859 New Zealand stamp either 7a pin rouletted, 7b serrate rouletted, 7c rouletted or 7d perf. 13.
