e-Bay does not always have what I need.
Great Britain dealers are killing me with postage.
Can anyone recommend a USA dealer of GB?
Thanks.

Terry McAdams: This is completely off-topic, but curiosity has finally moved me to ask. I had a math professor in college by the name of Terry McAdams. At least that's his name as I remember it. As I recall, his specialty was mathematical statistics. I know it's a long-shot but by any chance could he have been a relative of yours? Added: After some memory dredging, I think the professor's name was McAdam (without the s). Been too many years to know for sure. |

Terry: the APS lists 14, USA-based, dealers in Great Britain stamps on its web site (www.stamps.org). Look under Stamp Collecting at top left on the home page. You might also check out the APS Stamp Store. You can still buy, with a slight mark-up, if you're not a member.
The only one of the 14 dealers I've dealt with is Larry Martin, from Crown Colony Stamps in Bellaire, TX. Did business with him last year. I was pleased with the product, pricing, and the service. |

what kind of GB are you looking for?
Penny Blacks? Machins? New Issues?
Different dealers for each. |

JLLebbert - I'm not aware of any math professor in my family line. I'm in California with a lot of relatives in the Walla Walla Washington area. I understand that the northeastern area of the country has a lot of McAdams'.
Climber Steve - I am an APS member and I will check it out - thanks.
chipg - At the moment I am looking to complete more recent year sets. ie: I am working on the year set I purchased for 2008, but my "year set" does not include self-adhesive booklet stamps such as 2545-48. I need a US dealer so I can order with much less postage. Machins confuse me. I have "A" Penny Black and I do look at older stamps when available. |

Terry,
You may wish to contact Tine & John Carlson at Jet Stamps. They are in RI and do a lot of Machins and I would imagine much else in GB. I have purchased Machins from them as well as earlier KEVII items. I am sure they cover all the recent issues. They are very helpful and have a goodly amount of stock. You can contact them at jet9@cox.net . I have always been happy with my experience with them.
As for Machins confusing you. Sorry to hear that. I hope you are not using the Scott Catalog as a guide.
all best,
Larry |

Thanks Larry.
I will contact Jet Stamps.
Yes, I use a Scott catalog to go along with the Scott album I am using. I do have a SG Great Britain Concise catalogue. Just more confusing. I will have to study some more. |
