I'm probably overlooking something basic but here goes...I'm working on a group of Belgium stamps and am stuck on the coat of arms of 1893 and 1905. Scott illustration #A27 and #A32 are not very clear in my catalog. What is the difference?
If you look at the base of the design, on the first issue, the design crosses into the cartouche in the form of small circles, whereas, on the second there's a clear break.
One of few examples where sometimes a description is more useful than a picture!
You're not alone. More than a few of us were left scratching our heads the first time we encountered these issues. This is one of those Belgium questions that gets asked again and again and again...
Glad to know I am not alone. It would really be nice if a list of these descriptions could be posted somewhere. I find myself scratching my head quite often...
