I have a number of stamps that are the Republic of South Maluku. I find the info on this republic in Google and Wikipedia but can't find it in Scott's or Stampworld. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jim

According to this info, they're bogus issues, so the major catalogs don't list them.

Stanley Gibbons list 17 stamps (plus another two perf varieties) under the title "South Moluccas".

These are 16 Netherlands Indies ("Indonesia") stamps and 1 United States of Indonesia stamp each with the overprint "Republik Maluku Selatan" and two bars.

This is the first category referred to in the Wikipedia article.

According to SG these were on sale and postally used in Amboina and Saparoea.

They do not list the later pictorial series.

There is a free android app which catalogues all of the issues with some info on the postal system in the area at that time. Just go to the google play store & check out "RMS stamp inventory"

Some collectors still collect these issues, however. I've never bought any myself (on purpose, anyway), but I've seen ebay auctions for them. I've been surprised at how much they went for - about the same as many other common mint issues in some cases.

According to the Wikipedia article a person in 1991 stated that in 1954 a German collector had 150 of the UN and pictorial type made. I have 15 of these types and so I can't imagine that there is only a total of 150 of these stamps. Jim

Welcome,
As far as selling stamps here are your choices;
1. take them to a stamp dealer and sell them
2. take them to a stamp show and sell them to a dealer
3. sell them online (i.e. ebay or another online auction site)
4. Take them to a stamp club and sell them to another collector
5. Join an organization like APS and sell them in mailing 'circuits' to other collectors

Note: Rules prevent anyone from selling their stamps on this forum until they have 50+ quality posts. Please do not try to sell them here until you have reached this milestone.

Break up into lots, make decent scans, set a low starting price on ebay, as with most other philatelic material.
