Hi Robi13,

The stamps you show on this thread do not have inverted backgrounds.

You asked two questions above:

1) background inverted for the 1,2 & 7k, like in the 4 or 10k stamps

These do not exist because the background patterns are different for these stamps.

Stamps of these designs do exist with inverted backgrounds but their appearance is very different as shows in the link given above.

2) Different places of possible inverted work NOT only in the stamp ground area.

These stamps are printed from either two or three plates, so for an invert the complete impression from one plate must be inverted when compared to the impression from the other plate(s).

The current Raritan stamp auction shows some nice examples of relative shifts (i.e. registration errors like the one you show on your other thread but more eye-catching) and it also shows some very nice inverted background errors in the rouble values.

I suggest you look at the following lots:

#656 - background and centre shifts.

#666 - background shift

#685 - 10k inverted background block (as in vasia's images).

#699 - 10R inverted background

#702 - 1R inverted background block

@Rob13

This might ease a bit of your anxiety if not cured it. I believe Russian stamps do have some tricky answer with regards to the inverted groundwork watermark but Cherry Auction house seems to be answering the $$$(values) of each inverted groundwork watermark ( it's not only 4K & 10K).To my surprise the answer might be"as long as it's meet the requirements" as our friend @vasla from quoted.
Here is the link that might help you

It is so much easier to see the empty background where the crown would be with a normal background than the try to look at the dots. With the inverted background that empty area is at the bottom of the center oval instead of at the top. I don't know why more identifiers say that, but if you look at the links you will see it quickly.
