Close but I'm stilled not convinced. The circle on the Hermes head is finer in shape, bigger, and mind you perfectly centered. I appreciate the post for comparison. |

Foreign matter on a printing plate is no concern to philatelist . Nice to keep as a oddity . But here is something much more interesting to collectors and harder to explain , from my collection . |

floortrader - Is the stamp on the right printed on a worn down plate possibly? I can see a few variations actually on that peak alone. Good stuff and thanks for sharing. |

floortrader - I've been analyzing those stamps for awhile now. I have some interesting finds. Please find attached an image I put together to compare the bottom right quadrants of the stamps. |

wc,
Give yourself a couple of hickeys on your arm and see if they are both the same,

pagoda - Are you trying to say Aphrodite gave Hermes that hickey? I bet Aphrodite gave perfectly centered and circular hickies. Don't you?
I say let's see if anyone can find a hickey that is as beautiful as the one on this Hermes head. I will even throw in a hickory stick. I bet you there are none out there because it isn't a hickey. |

redwoodrandy - Looks nothing like the mark on mine but it's cool to know about what kind of imperfections exist. I still believe the circle mark on mine is very, very unique and not just an accidental hickey. Thank you for posting it. |

Richard Frajola - '111' from Zalkyntos - that's perfect, thanks. Would anyone happen to have a reference listing all Greek numeral cancellations?
WC - one believes what one want to believe. Some believe the man, earth, the lot was created in 7 days, other believe in Darwin's evolution theory. I can only wish you best of luck in finding an exact match of your freak. Out. |

Blaamand - Great question. FYI "As above, so below".
BeeSee - You know that is pretty clever of you. I thought it actually could be titled "Zeus' Release".
