Nice find! Make sure you check that one for re-entries. Looks like there is a Plate scratch on the back of the Queens' head.

Here a close up of the back of the queen's head.

Do not look like the same color to me, but I may be wrong as I am a bit color blind ;)

I did check and found nothing

Also, I may be wrong but I think laid paper were from the first print delivery, which could mean the plate were bran new which would mean no possible re-entry, but like I said I may be wrong

Re-entered parts of the design that were rocked into the plate during construction are called Fresh Entries. So there could be re-entry marks on the stamp. But finding any type of flaw on an already expensive stamp makes for an even bigger find.

I am bumping this topic.

I recently completed evaluating a purported mint Scott 31, the 1868 one cent Large Queen on laid paper. A technical evaluation has been posted on Academia.edu at the following location.
