This was sold as a U1, but that's on white and this is on buff. Is it U2? The brackets around the THREE and CENTS are curved. My Scott's says "13 mm across top." Top of what?

Thanks for your help.

Don

Hi ddreisba, I think you will have more chance posting that question in US stamp section!

Regards,

Label measurement is from the intersection of the left border end with the outer oval border to the intersection of the right border end with the outer oval border. Straight line distance, measured in millimeters.

Paper color for the 1st Nesbitt printings works this way: It is white or not white. Not white is buff. Best estimate is 15 or more shades of buff.

Assuming the color shown on my screen is correct, Scott U10.

Oh Dear: Two votes for U10. But it seems to me the curly brackets around THREE and CENTS are more forceful on my sample than on U10.
I only started collecting envelopes a little over two years ago. I thought that if I lived long enough, I might some day deal with these low number envelopes. Then I came across a U1 with opening bid of 1 cent. I got it for a good bit more than one penny, and this is what I got. Obviously, I'm in over my head. I appreciate your efforts to throw me a rope.
Tomorrow, when I'm a bit more alert, I will try the measurments jobi suggested.

I took another look at the catalog, and I see your point. U10 it is. Thanks for your help.
