Good Evening to All,

I am a new member of the forum and would like some assistance with this stamp (2 pictures attached) that I happened across in a packet tucked away in some kiloware that I acquired some months ago.

It is a MNH 20Kr grey Hungary numerals definitive issue from 1898, with the first Kr type watermark. As can be seen there appears to be a plate flaw in the value envelope, as the toe of the figure 2 seems 'broken' with the missing piece seeming to have dropped. I have no specialist reference work for these stamps and wish to know if this is indeed a plate flaw and if it is, is it of a constant type.

Any information would be much appreciated.
My thanks in advance to anyone who can help, Charles.

Hi Selrach19, and welcome to the forum.
Your stamp is a 'cheap' one - what I mean by cheap is the printing method. There really is no error here, just very poor printing and poor quality control, if any. Most likely reason for the dropout is not enough ink on the plate or roller. This sort of thing happens even on US stamps from time to time, especially those that are printed in the millions.
