I'm trying to compile a list of stamps that Albert Decaris designed, engraved maybe both. The list of his output for France is quite well covered at the Phil-Ouest website..
i am primarily interested in his output for Monaco and the French Colonies.
Any info with Scott numbers or links from members here will be greatly appreciated.
I'm certain that Nethryk will be able to provide a few!

You might find something of interest in this blog (includes Monaco, various French colonies and Saar):

Hi there Graphis,
I was wondering did you mean that there weren't many posts on the Albert Decaris blog or that the content isn't that good?

Stamp Crazy...i take it that you are the author of both the Decaris and Slania Crazy sites...both of which I consult often...thank you for all your hard work and dedication. I am just trying to compile a list of stamps that Decaris worked on other than those from France and Monaco...i'm finding by referencing Scotts...BidStart and Delcampe a treasure trove of stamps from mosty the French Colonies and even an issue from Peru! I'd be more than glad to share my info and scans with you...just email me.

Yes, guilty as charged. lol. Your offer sounds fantastic! I am also compiling a complete list of Decaris. I currently have a little over 300 altogether. I was asking to see if I could make the blogs better in any way. They are ultimately my way of recording my collecting journey, so they often aren't greatly detailed. I'm glad you enjoy them :)

Hi again graphis,
I just tried to send you an email but it didn't work saying news members can't send email. Could you send me an email. Then we can go from there. I'm especially interested in the Peru one which I had no idea about.

Gibbons and Maury both give details of designers/engravers. Yvert doesn't, from memory. The cheapest way to get the information is probably to pick up an old Gibbons Part 6 catalogue, from the period when it was able to cover the whole French area in one volume

This is the illustrated list of stamps created by Albert Decaris not only for France but also for BEPTOM, which I dipped into during my visit to the reading room of the Musée de La Poste, Paris back in 2005: Bernard Gontier , « Maître Albert Decaris. Sa vie, son oeuvre philatélique ». Phila No 1, édition spéciale du Monde des Philatélistes, 1988. See http://www.delcampe.net/page/item/i...guage,E.html

It'd be so great to get a copy of that! Been looking on the net. So far no luck, but the search continues.
