86 Cent Areogramme - Printers

According to Webb there were 2 issues of the 86 c "glider" aerogramme. The first printed by Ashton Patter and the second by the Canadian Bank Note after A. P. went bankrupt.

I cannot find any info as to when in 1993 A. P. went bankrupt or when the CBNC printed aerogrammes first appeared.

Can anyone please help

I think it is supposed to be Ashton Potter, and here they are still printing stamps, are you sure they went bankrupt?

Ashton Potter went into bankruptcy in 1993. The MDC Corporation took them over and moved all assets to Ashton Potter USA (Williamsville, NY). A contract with Canada Post permitted them to re-open a facility in Mississauga.

Yes.

Before ? 1993 they were Ashton Potter Ltd. Ashton Potter Limited went into bankruptcy in 1993, aThey were taken over over and the asserts moved to Ashton Potter USA until it could re-open a facility back in Canada as Ashton Potter Canada.

The resurrected company Ashton Potter Canada started printing Canadian stamps around May 1995.

I have an 86c and 84c glider but there are no obvious markings as to who printed it.

As far as I know the only obvious difference is the colour of the gum.
