The cover story is Fight Cards: Postcards Got Out the Vote by Ruth Sabo, the first of two parts illustrating the role these "miniature billboards" played in presidential elections. Part II will appear in the September-October issue.

The issue features "Skyhook" Airmail, in which Steve Swain explores the origins of airplane mail pickup and delivery on the fly.

Other articles include the unveiling of the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park stamp in Woodstock, Vermont; announcement of Robert Dalton Harris and Diane DeBlois receiving a Luff Award, and a tribute to cartoonist George G. Wildman, best known for drawing Popeye, but becoming a cachetmaker a decade ago.

Alan Warren reviews China Stamp Society Specialized Catalog of China, edited by H. James Maxwell.

A journal welcomes are new column — "New Deal Philately" by Charles Epting. His first offering is Postal History of the Social Security Board. A recent addition to our column lineup is "Postcard from Canada" by first day cover specialist Gary Dickinson whose topic for this issue is Stamp Sales Supported 1976 Olympics.

Other column topics include sale of two inverted Jennies at World Stamp Show-NY 2016 and A Dealer's View of World Stamp Show-NY 2016.

The featured video shows mail planes dropping and retrieving mail canisters without landing.
