Attached is a Canada 19, showing numerous markings in lower left. I do not have access to plating reference books, so can anyone help identifying this stamp?
The marks I see seem to be associated with the cancelation and not part of the stamp design. I do have trouble with black and dark blue especially in scans on a computer screen so I could be wrong.
darth those are stain of very diluted ink or other substance and not part of any plate related problem . I do water color painting and you can see it's drop of something , middle is transparent and edge more dark. It's stain , so the stamps have less value
Will not be surprise they come from the pen they use to write on the cover
I did use my 50x microscope to get closer look at the apparent pitting on the stamp. I am also including a second copy which seems to show similar "splashes"
Probably just a messy clean up of the bed or rollers, I rn into something like that when I was a printer, but not as heavy as your stamp Gilles le timbre
