Picked this RO172 out of a lot recently acquired.



What's going on in the upper left corner? Is this the double transfer referred to in Scott?

Guess I should have dipped this before I posted.

In doing so, I did not find a watermark and in fact it looks like an RO172b instead.

It is certainly the silk paper. It's impossible to know which DT is the one listed in Scott, I have seen at least 2 different ones. Something is going on in that corner, but I am not sure exactly what it is. Some of it looks like a bad plate wipe, but some looks more interesting. However they do not appear to be silk threads, but something printed.
