Canada Post's Logo Is Backwords..

Hi guys..I you look at the Canada Post logo the English and French versions are split between 2 lines...Should they not be on the same line as I have shown on the right side logo..?

Is this on a FDC? Some FDC errors have high cat values.

Well in Canada we were taught to read from left to right, top to bottom..if you read it the way you were taught..it doesn't make sense...haha

This is all very strange. The logo set on the left has to be read vertically while the one on the right has to be read horizontally to get the correct names for CPC, i.e. Canada Post in English and Postes Canada in French.

If they had done -

Postes Canada
Canada Post

- it would have read correctly both ways.

But it took me - right/left challenged as I am - several attempts to come to this result. and even longer before I could edit my post with with a horizontal/vertical solution to the problem. But perhaps CPC is run by Anglophiles at the operational level who have to be first/on top of things.

I still do not see anything wrong. It says Canada Post on one side of the logo, Postes Canada on the other. The logo is there to keep the English and French names apart.

Well this just shows how observant we all are. This third version of the logo - which I had hoped would make me rich - was found in the advertising immediately above this topic.

Not strictly true. In the case on the left, the graphic does separate the English from the French. But with the logo on the right, you have English "Canada [graphic] Post" and French "Postes [graphic] Canada". Note that Post Canada and Canada Postes are not acceptable names for CPC.

With my previous post and contrary to the two versions that started this topic, the logo reads correctly as Canada Post and Postes Canada whether you read it left-to-right or top-to-bottom.

Great! It is the same "wacky" way Wert seems to object to, but then backwards. Of course, this way it is correct no matter how you read it!

Well here in Canada, the French/English thing can become a very sensitive issue. So taking regional sensitivities into account, the only correct way of reading the first logo is top to bottom and the second logo left to right. Perhaps Canada Post should have stuck with logo three which is correct both ways of reading. But then, of course, all the anglophones would be up in arms and asking why French should come first when there are more English speakers in the country.

Always politically correct aren't we...haha
