An Iranian friend gave me an envelope of stamps that he had saved off letters from home, mostly from the 1990s. Given the embargo, I was not sure whether Scott would list them or not. Turns out they do. But for stamps issued after the start of the embargo, October 29, 1987, they seem to only list values for mint stamps. And for definitives, not even that.
Which seems quite backwards. Given the embargo, there are few legal ways for US collectors to obtain mint Iranian stamps issued after it started. But used stamps could be gotten of mail, as these were, or in small quantities as a small portion of w/w mixtures imported from other countries. So one would think that Scott would list values for used Iranian stamps.
