I found a couple of interesting 3c Small Queens in a recent ebay lot. The first one is unusually well centered, but does have a pulled perf in the upper left and a rather dark cancel, which obscured where the guide dot would be. However, under magnification, it could be observed. This is a first Ottawa printing.

The second is interesting in that it is from the first column in the sheets of 100. This is proven by the partial printers mark at the left. The bottom portion appers to be the start of the mark, as a portion of the horizontal line at the bottom can be seen. There is no guide dot at the lower left corner of the stamp, because the column row did not have dots.

Here is an example of what a complete margin inscription would look like.

Anyone have any other Rose Small Queen images to share?

Here is another Rose 3c Small Queen, on a cover cancelled Plantagenet, Canada West (Ontario), March 30, 1872. This one is a darker shade of rose. Unitrade list 37i as dark rose on thick paper. However, the paper seems normal to me.

Here are the small queens I inherited from my father quite some time age (plus a few Jubilees).
