Does anyone remember Bureaufax where you could take a document to the post office and have it fax'd to several countries around the world for subsequent postal delivery?
Back in the 1980s, the UPU and the CCITT (International Telecommunications Union) got together to come up with standards for the service as it was offered in some contrail by the post office and in others by the telecoms carriers.
I was a delegate to these meetings and this shows how well
Canada Post treated us. The menu included Scott 976 UN - World Communications Year stamp with a rather nice hand cancel.
And yes, the meal was scrumptious.
