Checking the Postal History Society of Canada website, the Formosa, C.W. (Canada West) broken circle was used from 1864 to 1878. Although a partial cancel, the date appears to be 1876. The ONT (Ontario) version did not appear until 1879.
The stamp has the lower left guide dot, and is the orange shade. That would make it Scott 37 if perf 12, 37e if perf 11.5 x 12.
I doubt the cancel ads much value due to the long period of use.
On a single stamp such as the one you have scanned, it is difficult to tell which type you have? There were three types of 'split-ring' cancellations from Formosa, Ontario that were proofed. Type 1 (Proof Date unknown)and used to 1867 and was inscribed "FORMOSA C.W., Type II (Proof Date Aug. 20, 1879) used to approx. Mar. 2 1896 and inscribed "FORMOSA - ONT - CANADA" and Type III (Proof Date May 16, 1908) and used to as late as 1948 and inscribed "FORMOSA ONT".
All evidence points to a Type 1. Here is an image. I don't have an image of Type 2, but the positioning and size of the text would be much different due to having more words.
