Bits 'n Pieces.

A colleague brought this to my attention, mounted in the wrong Steiner Space.
Turns out it is a Sc# B7 variety (Unlisted in Scott)

Type A21 10 para Blue Green with "double overprint"
Unfortunately in the "Not so handsome" Category
1915 Postmark Constantinople.

Unknown.
Guess.
Mutilated Stationery
Sc#364 Type A16 foreign Postage 1 Piastre Violet Blue
Paper: Thicker than the wrapper paper, thinner than Postcard.
Looks like fine Granite Paper.

Your two 1981 stamps were issued singly as SG2733 and SG2737, and also appeared in a mini-sheet, as shown below. Your 35 Lira stamp with the tab has definitely come from the mini-sheet.

1981

I'll wait till / if I get the 2 miniature sheets.

Otherwise the 7˝ Lira stamp is possibly a chemically / light altered stamp.

Going from Fawn to an Olive green.

Colour changeling...........Fawn to Olive Green (loss of pigment) or possibly bleach in the soak water?

Comments on 3 of your stamps here on pg 16:

1) The sheet of airmails - very cool! Never saw one before. Looks like some kind of proof sheet or souvenir created for the issue...

2) The 1pi blue imperf: you are right on the money. It is a cutout from postal stationery. There are 2 listed, both issued in 1916. The first is AN140, which is 'grey paper with silk threads'. The second is AN 141, which states 'grey-green granite-like paper'. Hard to tell from a cutout, but based on your picture of the back, I'm going to go with AN140, as there are clearly silk threads present. (or so it appears?) AN140 seems much scarcer - mint value for mint entires is TL 300 for AN140 & TL180 for AN141.

3) The (3) 1981 issues celebrating Ataturk's 100th birthday are very annoying. There was the set of stamps; the small mini-sheet; and the large mini-sheet. Neither Scott nor Isfila lists the large mini-sheet. (Don't know about more recent Isfila - mine is 2011 - my guess is they'll cover this, if not already done.) The 'green' version - esp given it is used - appears to have changed color a bit.

Even more interesting - compare this issue to Scott #841. (Or your 6ks Ataturk stamp on this page - all part of the same series) You'll notice that when they issued the stamps for the first anniversary of Ataturk's death, in 1939/early 1940 - they had his birthday listed as 1880. Then, by the 100th anniversary of his birth, in 1981, they had changed to 1881. (They didn't keep good records - the actual date of birth - somewhere between 1880-1881 - is very much still in question!)

Thanks for all that Michael, Super.

The "Black Print" I did not purchase, too expensive for me, and damaged
If you would like to see first hand.....

The silver rivets are off putting as well.

Thanks for the help on the Stationery, which I can put to bed,
and the two Mini Sheets
No wonder I was scratching my head. Well done to 22Crows.
