A Peace Dove above the Earth is featured on this Russian stamp of 2002. It is painted in the Picasso style and there are rainbow colors. Hello Alexey, Do you know if there is some connection to the MIR station? And is the Donetsk People's Republic in your stamp a new country? K. |

The Helsinki Peace Conference is commemorated by a Dove and a flag carrying the word Peace in several languages and the sides of the stamp are decorated with olive leaves and fruits. The Dove looks a bit like the Picasso dove seen so often on other stamps. (Hi Nethryk, Nice to see you are back, do stay a while! K.) |

It is interesting that atheist regimes use the Dove with an Olive twig as an emblem of peace because it first occurs in the Bible, in Genesis, in the story of Noah and the flood. |
