Hungary issued this unique Dove with the child in the tab for the International Year of Peace in 1986. In the background the word Peace in a multitude of languages. (Rod, I like that Flamedove. K.)

Two Doves for anniversaries of the Rotary Peace projects:

(Hi Rod, You sure have the most unusual Doves in your album! I have never seen any 'rainbow' colors like those on the Commonwealth "Peace and Harmony" Dove - do they represent colors of flags? The Swedish reads: "Peace for coming generations". And the beautiful Czech Lady with Dove and twig commemorating 10 years of World Peace Movement, is surely somewhere on the engravers thread, but that takes days to find!)

Hello Kris,
Once again a biblical reference, that sits alongside the dove, the sprig of the Olive Branch, and Peace.

to wit:
It is mentioned in the story of Noah's Ark; after God appeared before Noah following the flood, there was a beautiful rainbow in the sky signifying his Glory and Power as well as His Covenant.

Hi Rod, Of course there are plenty of rainbows keeping the Peace Dove company, but I think it's remarkable that the colors are arranged so differently and I haven't seen black among them till now. You seem to have a self-adhesive version of Noah's Ark, I didn't know there was one. The original sheet has the whole picture. Artwork by Tovit and Aharon, 2007/8, with nature's arrangement of the colors. It's a lovely painting and shows the messenger of Peace nicely. By the way, did you notice that the Dove seems to be the only creature without a partner?

Another Peace Dove with a rainbow for the International Day of Tolerance, 16th of November, issued 2002. The year of Tolerance was in 1995, the Day of Tolerance first observed in 1996. (Bonus: a hand)

Yes, I am uneasy about the reference, and the black colour,
perhaps we have this assumption on hold, until some intelligentsia
can enlighten us.
I have seen a "spectrum" of light similar to a rainbow, (with the black band) on an Australian stamp,
that was biblical in nature, being God's reference of "darkness into light"

No I didn't, but I did notice the Tiger was solo.

(Point to ponder............Was Noah without a partner?)

I presumed the Dove had left his partner on board, when he went seeking land............

PS: The Israeli sheet, is the only image that is not mine, it was copied from a member collector, some years ago.
So the ID remains open........ (Note: differing stamp values)

Hi Rod, Your Paris Conference did appear on the previous page but your scan is much more detailed. I have just checked the rainbow thread and found a number of Doves there, but I hope no-one will mind as long as there isn't too much repeat. I don't know anything about the Brazilian Dove either, sorry; an engraver specialist would know.
The Vatican Dove (not on the rainbow thread) is seen in the context of 100 years UPU, but it is not carrying a letter, so it should be welcome here. I wasn't able to find out if the stamp depicts a real mosaic or if it was designed by a modern artist. K.

Oops, sorry Kris.
With expanded Thematic threads, this is always going to happen.

Unfortunately, we cannot edit a thread after a certain time here on SCF
otherwise, you would / could keep a database on every stamp posted,
on your original Post on Day 1
