For the past few days I've been sorting modern GB commems, from about 1997 on. About a shoebox full of them.
A bit of a nightmare, as there are about 2000 different for the period! I've been putting this off for many years, for obvious reasons. I got up to 2010, and am now going to take a break and sort something else.

I spent the afternoon participating in an auction, Old Louis to be exact. It was a blast as usual. Old Louis is a small player with a big league auction platform that I love to live bid on. Lots of small Russian stamps to fill in those pesky spaces and a couple of larger items that I can check off of the list. |

Water tank exploded. Water ran out. I had to track down plumber.
Lamented not getting my 25 minutes in. |

I spent Friday evening participating in the last Rumsey sale. Acquired a CSA blockade run cover to Germany plus several other covers originating from either Cincinnati or Kentucky. Today, I unpacked supplies from Lighthouse while watching Kentucky's second half implosion against North Carolina. |

Put some 2020 stamps in various pages for sorting and mounting. Also added some new mailers postmark permit 'cut squares' to my growing collection. I really liked this year's US holiday issues. |

Quote: And today I spent a few hours watching and bidding in the Raritan auction. Rog- certainly among the best auction houses if you collect Russia, and you scored some beauties today. That said, they often have interesting WW lots but over the years I've been turned off by their minimum bid system, Many times it has felt like their lots started at or about retail. |

Rod, quite interesting group you've got there. Mine look nothing like these! I will try to post a scan soon. |

Back at it today. Warm water back in the house. Put some modern Swedish stamps away and started my Swedish town cancel collection with a nicely organized set in a vario page. |
