First is an indicium from the final design of the wrapper band for delivering printed material through the post (e.g., newspapers). The stamp impression is an Edelweiss. This wrapper design was in use between 1938 and 1959 and there were several different wrappers with this stamp. See "Postal Stationary" article(s) by Harlan Stone from 2007.

Hungary, very good answer, but it might help some if you give us a link to the Harlan Stone article?

I think these were a series of articles in the "Postal Stationary" journal of the United Postal Stationery Society in 2007-2008. They were probably also printed in the Tell journal of the American Helvetia Philatelic Society. The reference to them I have is from the hard-copy book from the AHPS called "Philately of Switzerland". However, I believe these articles are at a fairly high level and do not have an exhaustive list of stationary and all their different types and variants.

For detailed information, to identify specified types and get catalog numbers, refer to the Zumstein Schweiz Ganzsachen Catalogue - Switzerland Postal Stationery specialized catalog. I don't have a copy. Perhaps also, a Higgins & Gage postal stationary catalog (section of world catalog) for Switzerland would help. I haven't purchased a copy yet as I am not really at the postal stationary stage in my Swiss collection.
