I have recently been going through my old stamps (been 20+ years since looking through them) and found this stamp I can't identify. It is really hard to see the faint image in the middle, so I put the stamp under a microscope for better clarity. Can someone tell me what this is?

Looks like an Italian postage due.
I was wrong. It is an 1861 Italian regular stamp wth the likelyness of King Victor Emanuel II on it. In good shape it would brong around 9 dollars - this one is not very healthy.

Thanks! Sardinia is a great place to start! I don't see it on any of the stamp sites anywhere with just "poste" across the top.

Yes, my mistake. Two Sicilies should get you there in Scott.

It was my grandmothers so I doubt it's fake. Just want to put it in its proper place.

Yes, the postmark looks genuine, maybe you have the "deep blue"
First stamp I have seen, of this collecting area (Neopolitan Provinces) in 20 years of collecting.

Pmk : 15th August 1862 ?

No fraudulent cancellations are known on Sc#22 (Scott)
