Off to Washington DC to see what's new at museum. First time. I went to the old one decades ago and saw the National Stamp Collection.

Enjoy! Careful you're not stuffed and mounted as a rare example of Homus Philaticus.

It is pretty cool. I could spend hours in the Gross gallery. Some amazing pieces in the little pull out boxes. I think my fav was a piece of mail from a French soldier in Napoleon's army in the retreat from Russia.

It's now called the National Postal Museum and contains much more than the former Smithsonian collection (though that's still there). Be sure to visit the William H. Gross gallery to see the British Guiana One-Cent Magenta among other things (exhibit ends this month). One of my favorites is the Miller collection of plated Ten-Cent 1847's on cover.
