The second version of Guam Guard Mail ran from 1976 to 1981. It was run by the Government of Guam to raise money for various projects around the island. They never carried any mail like the the original Guam Guard Mail did. |

They sold them on Guam up until 1981, but I do see them on ebay. I bought them myself when I was in college at the time and have a complete run of the sheet and commemorative covers too. |

My great-grandfather was on the SS Dumaru when it sank off Guam and he was lost at sea for three weeks. Those in the over-packed life raft ended up resorting to cannibalism. The Guam Guard Mail 2.0 issued a stamp to commemorate the Dumaru. I try to pick up items related to this when I come across it. |
