The 1851-57 Three Cent Stamps are, when taken as a whole, the true gem of my accumulations.

Here are a few interesting plate positions.

87R5L nice strong shift. 92L2L Triple transfer. 47R6 "Recut Bust"

Here are a few early (in the life of the town) covers from the two California counties I collect
An 1865 Punta Arenas and an 1869 Punta Arenas, the 1869 is a new EKU for that postmark (1 year 4 months)

I battled a persistent bidder for the 2nd of these next two covers while the 1st was offered to me in a private sale. All on the same weekend! The private sale was in response to an add I ran in La Posta for about 4 years, a collector in Las Vegas offered the manuscript cover while Schuler Rumsey was auctioning the CDS cover, which by the way is a new EKU (9 months 17 days) Both cover have a grilled stamp, I'll include a close up. Very proud of this pair. :)

A pair of early covers from Humboldt, Eureka and Arcata. the Sep 17 1862 Arcata matches the EKU in the Williams California postmark book, and could be the reported cover. I bought the cover long after the book was published.

I also collect Official Special Printings.

1, 2, & 3 are First Printing errors, the SEPCIMEN error.

4 thru 9 are 2nd printing errors, Small dotted I,
During the 2nd Printing a lower case I was used in two positions 7 and 26
4 & 5 and 7 & 8 are both positions ( Pos 7 & Pos 26)
Also during the 2nd printing the little bell end broke off the C in position 28
#s 10 & 11 Broken C
#12 is the 3rd printing error, A Broken I, from position 66.

Littleriverphil, beautiful! I love the last bunch - the are so colorful!
They are also different errors from what you said, the overprint is SEPCIMEN.

I love that specimen set.

My trial of EzStamp ran out today. I would like to get the complete package for all countries.
Here are some interesting stats, if anyone is interested.
I started collecting Canada 8/8/16 (3 mo-10 days ago).
I cataloged the first #1-#300 and airmails.
EzStamp shows my purchase price $1,093 and catalog value of $14,260.
That is average of 7.7% of catalog value. Not too bad.
