Did anyone happen to catch "Timeshift: Penny Blacks and Twopenny Blues" when it aired?

I downloaded it via the BBC iPlayer. Normally the downloads self-destruct after a month, I believe... but there are ways and means to keep them
"Timeshift" is appropriate in the case of this documentary. It could have been done in the 1950's with the posh-voiced reporter, the "Oh, a woman collector but it's ok as she collects cat stamps", the age-ist "nobody under 55 in the room" attitudes. It tells you very little about the actual stamps in the title.
BBC at its worst and so, so different from the stunning EARTH 2 series with David Attenborough (no stamps were injured in the making of his series).

You can watch it overseas but you have to install BBC media player first, and I think this might only be possible in the UK or via a UK ISP. Certainly you're very restricted in what you can watch and listen to in my experience.

I managed to watch it - I found the history of how the hobby grew quite interesting.

I think I'll pass on the £12 for 12 issues 'Special Offer'.

Posh, scotzm? Sounds like a North Yorkshire accent to me! I enjoyed the programme, which was affectionate, not satirical. It covered a reasonable amount in a short time. And the shots of The Strand took me back to the 60s, when the area was crammed with stamp shops, and, as one contributor said, Gibbons was bustling, not quiet as the grave.

North Yorkshire is posh.

Compared to South Yorkshire.
