Beleive that most of very recent Australian kiloware over the last 3 years has been cleaned and is no longer in the system.

Sorry John, I am not following you.
are you saying most collectors cannot (prefer not) to soak modern Australia, and are buying them already soaked and "cleaned" instead (at a high price) ?

or?

Cheers

It's my part in stamping. Australian kiloware coming to an end. Everything I have ever done with stamps is going to stop because of no more kiloware is at the door. Have sorted stamp since I was in single numbers.

Just to rub salt into the wounds people are buying kiloware to take postmarks off stamps in the market place. It just stops even more stamps from getting to the collector. Stamp numbers are still falling at charity collection areas.

Believe For the last 2 years the introduction of more new people to stamping are bidding for recent Australian kiloware with a lot of interest and with their strong bidding.

Have been reading "Australia auctions" Lots with no cancels off paper as stained (colour?)& cancels seen, with bits removed from the stamps". For over 5 years now.

We all know Postmark removal is an age old issue in stamping Its been around since the 1st stamp was mailed. The mix of people. We all know about stamp tampering in some way.

But in recent times kiloware New $1 issues has a price upwards of $650 per kg + 20% for buyers tax & $50 mailing.

At one Australian auction house I put in an unbeatable price per kg on as many lots as I could for a number of auctions and never had a win as a postal bidder.

from Rob:

"*I do not have the 2016 emergency issues as it is not recognised by major reputable specialists and stamp dealers. Stanley Gibbons will not list them as to them the stamps are merely "labels", and every reputable specialist and stamp dealer I had spoken to was adament they would not buy any."

The 30c counter-printed labels (Adelaide 2016) are listed in the SG SOTW 2017 edition numbered SG4492 - SG4497 (no prices listed), and apparently spaces have been allotted for them in the SG albums.

"$1 values of the same designs and also inscribed 'Adelaide 2016' were released on 2 February 2016, but were not on general sale at post offices and, as other counter-printed labels, are outside the scope of the catalogue."

Hi 22crows

I completely forgot about the SG, as I mentioned the SG listing in another forum in November 2016.

The SG does not recognise them as stamps but labels, Like the $1 emergency issues, both are considered "labels".

Even Renniks, although the catalogue values the set at $4,500, also warned the reader not to takes its pricing seriously.

I was offered a complete set of MUH 30c emergencies for $800 but turned the seller down as they are not recognised by major catalogues or accepted by reputable dealers and specialists.

As Stanley Gibbons had pointed out, they are counter-printed labels, not stamps.

Rob

Wow!
was not aware those even existed.
Any idea of its history? I see numbered, so a promotional context?
Listed in Brusden White?
Thanks for sharing.
That must be the only "black print" in the Aussie catalogue? I don't recall any others.
