Usage : make up use for higher telegram, parcel and bulk postage charges.

We think the postmaster tore off (hopefully) 1 complete strip, from the lower right hand pane of 60.
We cannot prove the last 2 stamps on the card here, if so, they would be 2R54, and 2R60

Here is the lower plate, the striped positions are the right hand strip on the tag, the block colours are the 4 stamps to the Left.

Deterioration of the stamp die. States 1,2,3,4.

1. Thickening of the left hand lower frame.
2. Further thickening, starts to join with the inner frame.
3. Lower frame thickening starts too break apart, a void begins to appear,
4. Lower frame completley compromised. (there is also a definite "dint" in the lower left frame)

As far as we are aware, the State 4, is the only one known, thus far.

I am guilty of sloppy research.
I spotted the (assumed) error on the Gold Tag ... COOGARDIE
On my original post I wrote Coogardie (sic) assuming the correct name should have been COOLGARDIE.

A bright spark just emailed me with the correct name BOOGARDIE. Mt Magnet.
