I was at my album bookcase shuffling a couple of albums around to make room for another album I had picked up. I noticed one album that I did not recognize. It had no label on the outside but was too tight packed to the binding to be a 3-ring binder even thought that was the first impression. I pulled it out and opened it. It had pages for Scott Specialty Poland in it. So I took it to my table for a better look. I do not remember purchasing this album. My first thought was "wow". Everything is hinged, mint and used. There was also a collection of 8 double-sided pages loose in the front of the album with a staple in the corner with about 400 stamps in it. I am not sure what album the pages came from. The album itself has most but not all of these stamps in it. The album is a 3-post album with all the pages re-punched. Just flipping through the album objectively, it appears to be about 60% complete, maybe more. The Scott specialty pages stop at 1966 and there are pages added from another album from 1967 to 1980. They appear to be Minkus pages, maybe? They have numbers on the pictures that were marked out and Scott numbers written underneath and has a light stamp perforation border. Those pages are about 80% full and mostly are ctos. Somebody put a lot of time into this album. I will have to put it on my list of things to do on a rainy day. No occupation stamps in the pages.

If anyone is interested, I will post a few pictures of some of the pages.

Has anyone else found albums in their collection that they do not remember purchasing or owning?

Rick

Yes - more that I haven't looked at the feeder album for years, and basically forgot about it.

If you can visualize my "stamp album " storeroom (imagine binders and albums piled on binders and albums), you might understand why.

Yes, similar to Jim, (jkjblue)
(Feeder albums) = good phrase, I'll adopt that.

Biggest disappointment, I have a very large collection of Swiss Projuventate
stamps somewhere, been missing over 5 years now.
Possibly in a box stored in the attic somewhere.

I also have auction lots from 4 years ago, or so, still unopened.

Don't think I have any albums that I'm not aware of. I can be a little slow in assimilating new material into my Big Blue Internationals. Worst example occurred in 2013 when I finally got around to moving a small collection of old Montenegro into my Big Blues. Purchase date of the Montenegro: 1975. I always knew I had it, but wasn't a big priority.

Over the years I purchased many large bulk lots and end-of-the -auction lots . What I done was purchase a few country collections or speciality collections to add to my main worldwide collection. This other purchased bulk material is enjoyable to work on during the long Chicago winters when I don't work .I lay it out in front of the TV and work on it during the NFL Football games .Some this stuff just gets put on the bookcase to be worked on later.
Later ....never comes because ,new group of large box lots are purchased . I got stuff from the 1990's that's still being held ,to be worked on later .
