I've been to that one a few times over the years. Always a great show.

San Jose is kind of far. Is there a good regular show near Los Angeles?

I went to this one a few times many years ago when business took me there on a semi-regular basis:

The Long Beach Coin, Currency, Stamp & Sports Collectible Show is held three times each year. The next Expo starts February 16.

Show Dates
Feb. 16-18, 2017
June 8-10, 2017
Sept. 7-9, 2017
Future Shows

Show Hours
Thu.: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Fri.: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sat.: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.**
(** Limited dealers **)

AS I recall, it was long on dealers and short on exhibits, so it's more of a bourse than anything.

I'm in the Los Angeles area.

The two largest shows each year are:

- OrcoExpo (coming up soon, Jan 15-17, 2017) in Fullerton

and

- SESCAL (Oct 13-15, 2017), in a new location this time, Ontario Convention Center.

OrcoExpo has a very good selection of dealers, but is primarily a bourse (dealers).

SESCAL is a full-blown APS World Series of Philately show, with exhibits, stamp society meetings, etc.
http://www.sescal.org/

SESCAL has been out by LAX for many years, but, in my opinion, the most-recent show hotel has not been great, and people and dealers have become increasingly dissatisfied with the location. The change to Ontario might help a lot. (For instance, I should be able to volunteer now, whereas the drive-time to the other location prohibited that. (30 min now vs 90 min before, even though they're both about the same distance from me.))

There are also several monthly bourses around the area, in Glendale, Van Nuys, Arcadia and Anaheim. (I hope I'm not forgetting any.) If you're looking for more info, and can't find it easily online, feel free to contact me if you'd like.

Oh, about the Long Beach show, I am personally not a huge fan, because it's primarily a coin show (with a few stamp dealers) and the parking is pricey (or at least was the last time I went a few years ago).
