Here's an interesting item from Glen Stephens about a recalled Audrey Hepburn stamp from Germany and what they are bringing at auction. It shows her smoking, but her son did not approve of the design so they were destroyed. But a few got away. http://www.glenstephens.com/snjuly09.htmlCheck your kiloware and take another look at that German, on-paper stuff Swabbie was giving away last year, if you've got some of it!

La Swabbie:
If it's any consolation, a few years ago Bobgggg sent me a packet of common King George VI Ceylon to root through. Inside was a variety called the "Apostrophe Flaw". Catalogue value? £24!
Thank-you again, Bob!

Bob:
You are the God of Philately. I've seen you in action at the stamp shows in New York. You can find anything! Including a member of the Int'l Society of Guatemala Collectors to speak with Phil B.
Phil B. is my mentor. I've learned much from the Gentleman Philatelist from New York. Not only did he get me into collecting a Latin American country (Costa Rica), after spending the time to show me how and why he collects Guatemala; he also showed me how to collect covers. This lead to my collection of Texas Air Postal History and a study of the Americana Series postal rates.

Bobgggg, I would be a goddess-- but it's true; you can find ANY stamp'just look in my Europa collection where I marked many stamps:' from Bobgggg'.... (you believe that and I have a bridge to sell you!) I did have a mentor for my Europa stamp and found her at our local stamp club. Everyone should have such a helpful person! |
