Chalk, try 81L7....match above the OS, and possibly the blur in Orn G.
I haven't looked at every possible E relief, but this looked like a reasonable possibily....good luck!

Chaulk, E Reliefs are generally the most problematic because there is less to go on compared to the other reliefs. In this case the top of the stamp looks like it might actually be slightly damaged to to scraping or abrasion. But there are a couple of indicators that this is Relief E. First, the E Reliefs show a slight depression in the contour of the colored background of the top label above the T of POSTAGE, as is the case here. Second, the broken frame line above the top label is shorter on the right of the E Reliefs than it is on the other reliefs--on the E Reliefs this line barely covers the A of POSTAGE, whereas on the other reliefs it extends farther toward the T of POSTAGE (see Fig 16-K on page 312 of Neinken).

Dudley, I see in a lot of E reliefs, the bottom broken frame line on the left has a slight upward movement in about the last 1-2 mm. I don't remember ever seeing this in Neinken, and the E relief in this thread doesn't show it. (The unused example did)

Are you familiar with this, and is it only on specific plates?
Would really like to know more on this....thanks!
Ray

Dudley, yes I think you are correct about the top. I got out my usb scope and took some pictures. I need to go back and look assuming that the top isn't as bad. Took a few other pictures as well.

Does anyone have a copy of Scott 24 pos 91L5? If so would you post it. I have what I believe to be that position but can find nothing to compare to other than a Neinken drawing.

This is what I am working from...

I've added several arrows pointing to reasons why I believe it to be 91L5.
