Hello,
I came across a postage stamp that identifies with Russia Scott #1410. However in the catalog, it is listed as carmine, but mine is definitely orange. Has anyone seen this before? Is it unique or just not listed correctly? I was consulting the 2009 Scott catalog.
Thanks!

Colors are extremely difficult. What one person sees as orange, another may see as red or yellowish. Your stamp looks more carmine than orange to me, at least it shows that way on my monitor.

Peter's right. Our eyes and brains all interpret colour differently, as do our scanners and monitors. Also you stamp is stained, so it may be an indication that the colour of the ink has been altered somewhat. None of these things are really permanent.

Thanks everyone! Indeed, a quick google search shows a wide range of colours. It looks far more orange to the human eye, but I'll assume it is the correct one.
