No apologies necessary Tony. It happens all the time. Maybe I should give in to my Hubbys request and shave my beard and mustache? Just kidding of course. (I shaved it off months ago) Nice stamp by the way. Here's a couple that I have. Glad to be of some help to you with the Scott#. Actually I guess I technically confirmed the number that North State posted 1 minute before me. He didn't beat me to the punch, he beat me to the post. (tee-hee) Kathy |

Hi Kathy. You know, Kathy, one time when I was still working, this male voice called and asked for one of my colleagues. I kept saying: Yes, sir; yes, sir. You can guess how I felt when the voice said: Please, tell Mike his mom called. Here's one of my favorite Bulgaria. It's such a simple design and yet for some reason I have always found it very attractive. Sometimes it's terribly difficult to explain what exactly attracts us in a stamp. Oh, incidentally, it's from '17 and it's not going to buy me a pied-ŕ-terre in St-André-des-Arts in case you were about to ask. I think it's only worth two-bits. Hi Tony, You are Comedy. I dig it. I like the stamp you just posted. They took a nice warm and welcoming outdoor scene and surrounded it with a simple yet classy pattern. Here's a couple more scans. Here's a stamped cover I have Kathy |

Are there any members who can assist with Bulgarian Stationery? Postcards and Letter Cards Identification? I have more if a Catalogue is available. Thanks As found, I left the hinges on to illustrate how gum can sometimes lift an image from an Album page, gum on stamps sometimes evidence this. |

Hi Rod,
As far as I can see:
Top left is from the 1879 10 cents postcard H&G 1.
Top right is from one of the 1889 10 stotinki postcards or reply cards, H&G 8 to 9b.
Middle left is from a Russian 3 kopek postcard.
Middle right is from one of the 5 stotinki postcards issued in 1890 to 1898, H&G 10 to 12a or 17 or 17a.
Bottom left is from one of the 5 stotinki postcards or reply cards issued in 1885 to 1889, H&G 4 to 7.
The 5 stotinki cards were for Bulgarian destinations and the 10 cents and 10 stotinki cards were for international destinations.
The "E" on the left of the 10 cent/stot. cutouts is the last letter of "BULGARIE".
The "reversed R" on the left of the 5 stot. cutout is the last letter (ya) of "Korrespondentsiya". I'm happy to try and identify more of these if you have them, although complete cards are much more fun.

Very nice Rod!
These are H&G A1 (5 stot.) and H&G A2 (15 stot.) both from 1893.
Both also exist with a typo in the instructions on the back.
There was a very similar issue of both cards in 1898 with "Karta-pismo" in a heavier font.
After that there were only five more letter cards, four with portraits of King Ferdinand and one with a portrait of King Boris.

Quote: The 5 stotinki cards were for Bulgarian destinations and the 10 cents and 10 stotinki cards were for international destinations. I see, I was pondering why one value (reply card domestic) was in Bulgarian, and the other card (reply card REPONSE (sic) international) was in English. Reply Card (unfolded~no crease) 5 stotinki Green on card. Inside (Card opened up, and rotated 180 degrees) |

Hi Rod,
That's very kind. Thank you very much.
This one is H&G 4 from 1884.
The word "REPONSE" is in French in line with the other words above.
