it's a beautiful design on those coat of arms I think.. not quite as intricate as bicoloured but still nice.

unlike bicoloured where you have different maingroups and such.. there's nothing besides colour, and perforation to tell these prints apart.

and colour on pictures.. you know :(

i can tell the prints apart when I have my magnifier on them, from online pictures, there's a margin of error.

5øre.
1st picture, aside from being a marvelous stamp regarding quality it's a KII perforation from 5th vertical row. all 4 prints have KII and only print 1 and 2 have KI as well as KII.
this stamp can be all 4 prints, so it's up to colour, and cliché flaws if any to determine the print.
either print 1 or 2

pic 2: most likely print 3... it has a funny line in D(enmark) that isn't registered.

pic 3: most likely print 1.

20øre

pic 1 = beautiful stamp, cancel 58 Roeskilde. print 3 clear ultramarine.
pic 2 = slightly repaired perforation in the top, top perfs and bottom perfs don't match.
print 1. dull ultramarine.

coat of arms, perf 14 large corner numbers.
same issue as with small corner numbers, can basicly only be seperated by perforation, clichéflaws, colours, and dates in cancels (on covers) or singles after 1891 when the bridge cancel appears.. and only partially at this.
these stamps have KI, KII and KIII perforation

if a stamp has a clichéflaw/matriceflaw and perforation is KI or KII you can maybe locate the position.

i won't venture guesses on these, and later issues.

something interesting and worthwile to look for in these issues though.. 10øre can have small corners..
entires (preprinted cards) had different clichés (with small corner numbers) a few of these clichés (3) has been mixed with the others ones.
so in print 6, lower row position 94, 96 and 97 these can be found.. naturally quite rare.

in 20øre prints 9 to 14 2 reused cliché from small corner numbers, one of them used only in print 9 position A50. and the other one in 1 position in each of these prints, print 9 does thus have 2 isolated small corner clichés.

i'll give examples of these at a later time.

5øre doesn't have anything fancy aside from a few larger and well know(in the catalog) clichéflaws.. they are most likely also in facit.

later, in 20øre perf 12 3/4 there's a huuuuge rarity... which Richard has been lucky enough to find.. shown earlier in this thread.

15øre, one sheet of imperforated made it through the stamp control, and made it's way to "Søllested" a small town, where the stamps were cut out, sold, and ONLY found cancelled in this town.. so if you see them from another town on ebay, which happens.. do not buy..
these are 3 strip of 3, 3 pairs and 8 singles known of this stamp.

A couple of my small numeral 20ø issues. The one on the right seems like an odd color. I've been wondering if it's been altered in some way.

right stamps colour is what's called oxidized.

this is because of chemicals, like plastic softerners where it was kept... this causes it to be defective.

left stamp is a nice copy, 1st print.

That makes sense. I've never associated oxidization with blue stamps, mostly just the oranges. Can this be reversed with hydrogen peroxide?

maybe it can, but from what I hear, the "cure" is only temporary, and the stamp will revert to this color again.

Might be better to just leave it be then and keep it as a reference copy.

Brian - I would sure love some assistance on this one. With a frameflaw like this it seems like it should be easy to pinpoint, but I keep hitting dead ends. I think the frame is a 5D (?) and OM3 (?).

maybe just a hint? No, wait! I'll look at it again in the morning, with fresh eyes.
