Can anyone provide a thumbs-up/thumbs-down recommendation for "U.S. Large Banknotes Identification Guide, Strategies & Methods of Identification"? And if you are a "thumbs-down", can you recommend alternative references?

Thanks.

Have you checked http://stampsmarter.com and the 1847 website included in the former?

There is a fair amount of Large Bank Note info on Stamp Smarter site, you can start on this page and drill down into quite a bit of info

Bill Weiss wrote the book on the 15c issue. It is out-of-print but it pops up for sale every now and then. I digitized all of Bill's books for him, if you can not find a hard copy let me know and I might be able to get you a PDF of it.

No I had not. Am I correct in assuming that the material on stampsmarter.com is equivalent to that in the book?

The book is exclusively about the 15c stamp and was written by Bill Weiss. It is more detailed than the site for this stamp.

There is also more info on the site if you poke around, you can find more info in the library section.

Examples include this article on Large Bank Notes; authors are Bill Weiss and Scott Payton.

The Stamp Smarter 1847 content was originally written by Bob Allen but has been amended over the last year or two.
