Any idea what this large example could be? It is printed on unusual paper and the eagle is engraved. It is much larger than a regular stamp of that type (an example is scanned for a comparation).

Back is blank, paper is unusual and the eagle is engraved, so all that things suggest that it is not an illustration cut out from some magazine or catalog.

Most look like a cut out from a stationary of the time (but such a large didn't exist, as much as I know). Also there are a good number other differences in design (compared to the original issue of the stamp).

Without looking, I don't know the size of the postal stationery examples, but maybe? According to my notes, there was a 1g red.

Haven't seen this one before, but my guess is that this item is cut from some kind of advertising, probably by a stamp dealer. It is not from postal stationery.

Postal stationary of that time have the same sizes as stamps... so, it should be size as the stamp on the photo left, a much smaller than this one.

I doubt that it is a cut from an advertising, because it has actually engraved (not printed) eagle in the center.

Possibly it is some kind of the trial?

As a Cinderella collector, I can say that embossing on early advertising labels is very common.
