I have been trying for a long time to locate and purchase RC2 in used condition. Has anyone have one to sell or trade? Or has any every seen one?

Any assistance would greatly be appreciated. I have checked Eric, Richards, Frank's and many others sites to no avail. Either unlucky, blind or my destiny to find is clouded with delusions.

Future Delivery Stamp RC2
Unused cat. $47.50
used cat. $37.50
cut cancel cat. $20.00

Many MNH on ebay for $30. Used is difficult. The only one I found listed is from Mystic priced at $49.50 but not pictured and may not even be available. Too much. Keep looking.

If any of you readers would like a challenge among the cents values of the future delivery stamps, consider trying to find the "Future Delivery" overprint on the type I and type II underlying offset series of 1917 documentary stamps and the later letterset printings of the same stamps. I am convinced that not all denominations come on the type I and type II offset, but all should exist on offset and letterset. I will try to illustrate the differences that were described by the late George Brett. You can take up the same challenge of the basic Series of 1917 documentary stamps, the cigarette tubes ( I have RH1 on all three varieties), stock transfer. On the later Silver Tax and Tobacco Sale Tax, all except the 25¢ were overprinted on the letterset printed stamps. But the 25¢ were on overprinted on the earlier offset printed stamps.

So this is the stamp you want. I agree that RC2 in used condition is a difficult find. Mine was acquired decades ago, perhaps from David Chassy (?), a dealer who regularly advertised in Linn's.

In my experience late uses (1930's) of any of the cents denominations of the future delivery stamps are difficult to acquire. Virtually all the documents that I have come from the period 1918-1921!

For many years the $100 (RC18), which was not issued until 1934 just like RC2, was most difficult to find and some wrote that it was the key to completing the future delivery stamps. It was difficult enough to find that a forgery was produced to fill the space for collectors. Today the forgery is much scarcer than the genuine RC18.

I thought some might like to see a genuine RC18 with the distinct yellow green color on the left and the dark green with the added forged FUTURE DELIVERY overprint on the right. Note also the very high serial number on the forgery. I do not recall a five digit serial on a genuine RC18, much less a six digit serial that appears on the forgery which is illustrated.

thank you for my lesson tonight revenuermd. It is why I love this site, the wisdom shared is in valuable. I will keep an eye for both RC19s in the future.

Question for you do the low serial numbers on certain revenue stamps add value. I will post the one I am mentioning in a moment. ty

Single-digit serial numbers can command premiums.
